Skånes Djurpark is looking for a skilled and creative F&B manager who will lead our team during day-to-day operations and take our food experience to the next level.

At Skånes Djurpark, families can go on expeditions and get real close to nature. We're continuously working to match the food experience with the experience. To sum it up, we believe that a hot dog cooked over a bon-fire, on a stick, by the guests themselves, tastes a million times better than a hot dog served from the grill.

We work with local and fresh ingredients, and are continuously developing new and exciting concepts that match our profile. In 2018 we won five Brass Ring Awards - including one for our newest food concept Poop Cakes! Our guests should experience the food and drinks as a natural part of the wilderness experience. And above all, the food should taste amazing.

As F&B manager you are expected to practice a very hands on type of leadership and work by the principle of learning by doing. The operations can look different from day to day and your job is to make sure that they run as smoothly as possible - even if that means that you have to stand in the kitchen or do sales for a couple of hours.

The team consists of supervisors and frontline employees of variating ages - from 15 to 30, and it's your job to train and lead all team members to create the best guest experience possible. Throughout the season you will have about 80 direct and indirect reports. You also have a responsibility to work within the budgeted guidelines and drive revenue through the F&B department. 

The F&B Manager reports to the COO, and during daily operations to the duty manager of the day.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the day to day F&B-operation in the park, including:
  • Making sure operations run smoothly - every location is stocked and all team members know what to do. The park currently has two restaurants, six food outlets, two business areas and a wilderness camp which also serves F&B
  • Creating magical moments through food with our guests and continuously using guest and employee feedback to improve the F&B experience
  • Working in accordance with the park's values 
  • Food quality and food safety in all locations
  • Training and developing the F&B team (4-5 direct reports) and the Adventurer-team (100 seasonal reports).
  • Coaching team members to drive sales and continuously improving the quality of the food experience
  • Delivering on budget and continuously push to reach better sales and guest feedback
  • Administrative tasks, such as creating work schedules, stock counts etc.

 

Do you belong in the Swedish wilderness? To successfully fulfil the requirements of this role you need to have the following attributes and experiences: 

  • An eye for detail 
  • Passion for delivering a magical guest experience
  • Focused on our guests and team members
  • Good attitude and a big smile 
  • Ability to put strategy to action 
  • Able to work during weekends and throughout the whole summer 
  • Fluent in English
  • Leader with at least 3 years of leadership experience
  • Good leadership qualities - patient, focused, clear, persistent and understanding
  • Able to lead, motivate and inspire both older "specialists" and teenagers which have the first job of their life


The following capabilities and experiences would work in your advantage, but are not required for the job: 

  • Degree in relevant area 
  • Experience from the theme park industry
  • Comprehension of the Swedish language
  • Experience in running multiple locations simultaneously
  • Experience with LEAN leadership
  • Driver licence

 

 

About the position:

  • Full-time during the season (approx March to October, part time until Christmas), with the possibility to discuss a year around contract at a later time
  • The park has, yet of now, no possibilities for accommodations
