The mission of an Adventurer & Culture
Skånes Djurpark is working to become Sweden's best destination for families with children aged 0-12. Our mission is creating emotional connections between people, animals and nature.
As an Adventurer, you are a vital part of this journey, and the Adventurer team work evert day to create world-class magical moments. No matter which role you have, we guarantee a valuable experience in hospitality and storytelling.

Roles
As an Adventurer, you can work in many different roles in the park, and work in many differens areas. Examples include Food & Beverage, Basecamp (tickets and retail), Shaun the Sheep Land, Attractions (such as Expedition UPP), Show & Mascot and Childrens Farmyard. All the roles have in common that we work with people.

Adventure Academy
When Skånes Djurpark hires Adventurers, it is not done with a normal interview, but with a three hour audition alongside other candidates at the Adventure Academy.
Through the Adventure Academy you will get an insight into what being an Adventurer means and what expectations Skånes Djurpark have of you. An Adventurer needs to enjoy working with people, enjoy challenges and be comfortable in a sometimes busy environment. The invite for the Adventure Academy is sent out to interesting candidates.
What happens after application?
This is what happens after your application:
📝 Your application is reviewed by our Talent Scouts.
💌 Invite to the Adventure Academy (group interview) is sent out to the candidates first in line.
📚 The Adventure Academy takes place and we get to know you, you get to know the park and what it means to work with guest experiences.
✅ Reply regarding whether you got the job is sent out 1-2 days after the audition.
🎓 The course period starts and you are trained in different areas.
🎉 Graduation takes place and we celebrate the upcoming season!
💥 WORK STARTS!
How much do you work?
The working hours are adjusted to be combined with attending school full-time. There are, however, spots for you who can work more than just weekends and holidays!
The season is divided into three parts: spring, summer and autumn. As an Adventurer you can request how much of the season you want to work - only the summer (the main season), or spring and autumn as well.
☀️During the main season we offer varying degrees of employment, that are between 40-80%, meaning 16-32 hours per week - with the opportunity to pick up more shifts if requested.
🍂During autumn and spring you can request if you want to work evert weekend or less.
During these periods we also have some special arrangements during weekdays and weekends, that you can work depending on your availability.
You can request how much you want to work in your application.
Working period: The main season is between the winter break and the autumn break. The autumn period starts at the end of August. Training takes place during evenings before first work day. You can request how much of the season you want to work.

🏆 After a finished season at Skånes Djurpark you can apply to other theme- and animal parks all around the world through our network.
🏆The opportunity to apply for an internationally awarded leadership program, The Big Bear Academy!
Skånes Djurpark gives everyone who has worked with us one season and has turned 18 the opportunity to apply for the position as Big Bear for the following year. You then get to take part in the Spirit Award-winning leadership program for six months. This includes a study trip to USA, where we visit the biggest park in the world and have amazing leadership classes with world-class coaches.

Important to know before you apply
- You have to be 16 before the 31st of May to apply
- You do not need any previous work experience to apply.
- You are responsible for your own transportation, housing and food during the working period.
- It is a plus if you can work weekdays, but not a requirement.
- The season extends from Easter break to Autumn break, and it is a weekend and holiday-based job.
- The size of emloyment varies throughout the year, and is largest during the summer when the park is busiest. You can request how much you want to work during the periods.

The job as an Adventurer stretches from Easter break to Autumn break, and is a seasonal job where you can work weekends during spring, summer and autumn. As an Adventurer, you can choose how much you want to work, and decide whether you want to start during Easter or summer.

The Adventurers at Skånes Djurpark are the ones who create memories togheter with the guests - meaning in the entrance, in the restaurants, with shows and as mascots. The majority of our staff work in Food and Beverage and create magic in kiosks and restaurants. As an Adventurer you can work in several different areas during the season.
